We got a chance to see the IONIQ 6 and even test drive it when Hyundai Motor Philippines invited us over to the Seoul Mobility Show. One of the notable models we got to test drive in South Korea was the Hyundai IONIQ 6, and now it’s on-site at the MIAS 2023 for the entire weekend, from April 13 to 16, 2023.

The all-electric model features a ton of technologies that are in keeping with the advanced nature of the EVs of today. The IONIQ 5 is already noteworthy, but Hyundai Motor Philippines is looking to strengthen its lineup, or at least explore the possibility of introducing the new EV to the Philippine market. While the model is not for sale, at least not yet, a public showcase could be what the South Korean marque needs to stoke more interest and passion for the concept of electrified mobility.

Your guess is as good as ours when it comes to pricing, but we expect the model to be in the ballpark of the IONIQ 5, which is currently priced between P3,068,000 to P3,698,000. Take note that Hyundai has not said anything yet about the final price or the official availability of the IONIQ 6 but the ballpark figure that Hyundai Motor Philippines gave is around P4,000,000.

As for specifications and other notable features, the IONIQ 6 will come with Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), among others. Charging-wise, it also supports both 400V and 800V which boosts battery life from 10% to 80% in just under 18 minutes. The IONIQ 6 will also be blessed with a top speed of 185 kilometers per hour and powerful acceleration that reaches up to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds. The all-electric range of the IONIQ 6 is said to be around 545 kilometers which are achieved through an upgraded battery pack and the streamlined and aerodynamic profile of the EV.
