H0810007 Mag Asawa Umamp0n Ng Ad!k part2

While Honda Philippines is quite mum about the WR-V, the crossover already finds itself in a number of ASEAN markets (albeit in right-hand-drive form). Based on the BR-V, the WR-V is a more compact version of the popular seven-seater. With only five seats and dimensions similar to that of the vastly popular Toyota Raize, it seems like the perfect model for Honda to push out in order to do battle in the country’s subcompact crossover segment.

As such, the ASEAN NCAP has recently published its testing data for the new WR-V. The smallest crossover in the Honda lineup, currently. The design of the WR-V is akin to the BR-V, but with a shorter rear and shorter wheelbase. Ground clearance is still kept at 220mm, which makes it a perfect city car for the metro.

After a thorough test, the results are in and the WR-V got a five-star rating. The test mule came with six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, seat belt reminders for the driver and front passenger, and also the Honda SENSING suite that allows the driver to access advanced features like lane-keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking.

Aside from its features, the WR-V was able to score 27.41 out of 32 points in its adult occupancy test. The model also managed to score 42.79 out of 51 for its child occupancy test, which is definitely helped by the addition of ISOFIX child seat anchors.

ASEAN NCAP Honda WR-V

Here’s us hoping that Honda Philippines will be able to bring this little crossover into the country. A five-star NCAP rating is definitely a big plus for car buyers who want peace of mind. This is yet another vote of confidence for the BR-V platform that Honda is pushing with a number of its ASEAN-market models. Right now, the model is available in only right-hand-drive markets, so we might have to wait a lot or hold our breath indefinitely for this model.
