Chevrolet has released another pickup truck to add to its increasing lineup of vehicles. This new vehicle comes in the form of the 2023 Chevrolet Montana. It shares the same platform as the all-new Trax and gets a new turbocharged powerplant under the hood. It also comes with high-tech features and other features along with a unique approach to your standard pickup truck bed.
For starters, the Chevrolet Montana looks more like a lifestyle vehicle thanks to its sleeker and crossover-like appearance. It does come with LED daytime running lights, sleek headlights, a dual-port style grille, body cladding, and rocks a set of 17-inch wheels. While it may be designed as a lifestyle vehicle, it does come with a lot of utility features such as functional roof racks, and a high beltline that emulates its more rugged contemporaries.
At the back is where the magic starts for the Chevrolet pickup truck. Despite its smaller size, its bed can carry up to 874 liters of cargo. It also comes with an optional integrated lid that can be opened and closed electronically as well. For added functionality, it also has a built-in multi-board divider which allows a wider variety of cargo to be stored away. There’s also an optional storage net, bed extender for transporting a motorcycle, storage compartments on the side, a bed organizer which can hold several items up top, hooks for securing cargo, USB-A, and USB-C charging ports, as well a 12V power socket.

What makes the Chevrolet Montana pickup truck unique to the segment is when it comes to its engine. While its rivals have bigger turbocharged engines, this small pickup truck rocks a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder motor. It may be small but it does pack quite the punch for the pickup truck as it produces 133 hp and 210 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
As this model was made for the Brazilian market, it meets the demands of that certain area of the globe. Its official sales and deliveries will begin in February of next year for both Brazil and South America. There is no word yet as to if or when it will be available in other markets but as it comes with a global platform, its sales elsewhere are a highly likely scenario.
