Last week, Peugeot Philippines announced that they will be previewing the e-2008 crossover in the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) for a public appearance and likely to see if the public will resonate with an electrified 2008 which could potentially be an additional variant to the current 2008 available here in the Philippines.
Now fully unveiled to the public, this e-2008 could make for a tempting option as a great city crossover that is smooth, quiet, and refined to drive around the metro. It could also potentially make for a great entry point to having an electric vehicle (EV) for those wanting a smaller and cheaper option compared to the current EV offerings in the market.

The e-2008 is powered by a 50 kWh electric motor making 134 hp and 260 Nm of torque sent only to the front wheels. Seeing as EV cars produce all of their power almost instantaneously, we can expect brisk acceleration numbers for this small crossover. A full charge can also get you up to 320 km of range, making it more than enough for a week’s worth of commuting around the bustling streets of Metro Manila. Should you need a quick top-up, an available 100 kW fast charger can enable the car to charge from zero to 80 percent in as little as 30 minutes.
As of now, Peugeot Philippines is still surveying the market if they will officially bring in the e-2008 locally. If interest and demand are apparent during and after MIAS we could very well expect the French marque to bring this small electrified crossover locally.
We wager, that if the e-2008 is priced competitively as a great entry point to owning an EV, we could also expect other electrified models from the French brand to enter the market as well.
