Hyundai is updating its mid-size sedan with looks that match the stylings of its latest releases. The new Sonata’s look matches the aesthetic of Hyundai’s recent designs like the Staria van, Stargazer, and the Kona crossover. The new car is heavily redesigned and looks massively different from the outgoing Sonata, exuding a more futuristic appearance overall, especially with its new front fascia.
The first thing you’ll notice about the new Sonata is its new light strip, stretching across the front of the car. Below the light strip are a redesigned grille and reshaped headlights that flank the sides of the bumper. Meanwhile, black trim pieces can be found underneath the lights to accentuate the new grille.

Moving on to the side, bits of the old Sonata can be found on the doors and near the rear section. New wheel options are also available with new and exciting designs. The car’s rear features taillights that include a comparable light strip, and the lower fascia has a more assertive appearance than the previous model. Hyundai showcased both the standard and N Line models, each with its own wheel designs.

The first thing you’ll notice about the new Sonata is its new light strip, stretching across the front of the car. Stepping inside, we can see that the interior modifications are focused on two expansive 12.3-inch screens that are now integrated into a single curved display enclosure. The dashboard components, including the climate controls, have been reorganized, and the materials seem to have been improved from the previous model. In contrast to the old Sonata, the new dashboard now appears to adopt a more minimalist design. In addition, the steering wheel has been updated to a three-spoke design, and the gearshift has been moved to the steering column, leaving more space in the center console.
Hyundai hasn’t revealed any specifications for the car’s engine options yet. Hyundai likely will reuse the current powertrain lineup of the Sonata which comprises a 2.5-liter inline-four, a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four, a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four for the N Line, and a hybrid setup.
