H0710001 HULI PERO DI KULONG SA PAMBABAE part2

The Hyundai Accent, otherwise known as the Verna in India, is finally revealed. The launch in India will happen on March 21, 2023, but we’re already getting a full look at the front and the sides.

Two photos were presented. The front shot is accompanied by the words “The all-new Hyundai VERNA. Futuristic.” The same words are also used in the second, with the accompanying line “Bookings open” added, indicating that the model is perhaps ready for pre-order before the launch date in March.

We see that Hyundai has borrowed several design elements from the Elantra and the Stargazer to make the Verna/Accent as stylish as it is. The front is similar in execution to the Stargazer, in which it has an LED DRL that spans the entire front bumper of the vehicle, just under the hood. The headlights are mounted slightly lower than the DRL, and the front bumper itself is reminiscent of the Elantra. The grille is also very aggressive and features a sharp pattern that is also a callback to the rest of the grilles in the Hyundai lineup.

Continuing down the side, you see more of the Elantra’s lines all around, minus the funky pattern that is clearly visible on the doors. Instead, the Verna/Accent gets clean lines which also complement the complex design of the wheels. It looks like there are some real hips on this car as well, with the rear being one of the more eye-catching ones we’ve seen for the segment.

Hyundai Verna / Accent 2023

There is no rear shot of the car just yet, but we do get a look at how the rear lights wrap around the tail section of the vehicle. If the teaser photos are anything to go by, the rear lights will be all LED, feature a funky pattern, and will have an unbroken line that connects the two light fixtures together.

Digging a bit deeper, it is said that the 2023 Accent can come with a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder gasoline engine (no word on a turbodiesel), and the choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT). Another possible powertrain is a 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline motor with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With a launch date slated in March, we’re excited to see what features Hyundai has opted to put in for the Indian market. We remain hopeful that this model can make a comeback in the Philippines. Now the question is, are you just as excited as we are? Probably? Probably not?
