Electric vehicles are slowly becoming more mainstream in the automotive industry. More and more vehicles are shifting to electrification as their main source of propulsion, these come in the form of the Nissan Kicks and the Corolla Cross hybrid. While most of these vehicles are sedans, hatchbacks, and crossovers, not many brands are thinking of electrifying their bigger SUVs or pickup trucks. Maxus thinks otherwise as it has just released the EV version of the Maxus T60 pickup truck under its LDV brand.
While the eT60 gets the same looks as the 2022 version of the pickup truck it does come with an updated front fascia with a wide grille and sleeker LED headlights. It’s a much broader front clip compared to the version that we have here in the Philippines.
On the inside, it has a more utilitarian interior that is adorned in black leather and comes with red contrast stitching.
However, as it is now an EV, it ditches its internal combustion engine and goes with an electric powertrain. The pickup truck now carries an 88.55kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers an electric motor that pushes out 174hp and 310 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. As for its range, Maxus says it can do about 330 km with one full charge. Whether or not this is with a full load is yet to be determined. The automaker also claims that the new electrified pickup truck can do a 20 to 80 percent charge in just 45 minutes with a DC charger.

As for its technology, the Maxus eT60 comes with a 10.25-inch infotainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For safety, it comes with hill-start assist and hill-descent control, stability control, and a reversing camera with rear parking sensors that come as standard. This is also on top of its six airbags available for the higher variants.
As a last note, it does come with an interesting warranty for a utility vehicle that is also an EV. It has a five-year or 160,000 km warranty for the vehicle itself and an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty on the battery. For its servicing, buyers can expect to bring the pickup truck to the service center every two years or for every 30,000 km.
